The Photo Booth Dilemma

The Photo Booth Dilemma

Whenever someone whips out a camera, we've all asked ourselves at one point- "How do I pose?" or "What do I do?". There are quite a few people who are experienced in front of the camera, like say a model; they can instantly strike a pose without any hesitation. However, for some of us it can be an awkward situation- where do I put my hand, what do I do with my feet, how do I pose, should I smile or not. We hear you, trust us! We, the photo booth team at Rhinos Lightning & Sound, have seen it all. Don't worry, we got you! Here are some tips on what to do in front of the photo booth.

Smile!

Honestly, you can never go wrong with just smiling. A smile can go a long way. You know how the saying goes by Stanley Gordon, "smile, and the world smiles with you". Don't be afraid to show off those pearly white teeth. It's also a fact that smiling can make you look younger, so smile like you're half your age. If for some reason you just can't smile, talk to one of the Rhino's photo booth team and we'll tell a joke that'll make you laugh and smile, or at least we'll try.

Pair/Group Interaction

Whether you're posing with your significant other, family, or friends, don't forget to play around with the people you're with- whether that's placing some bunny ears on top of their head, kissing them for roughly 3 seconds (the camera counts down to 3 before taking the shot), or carrying them if you can. Whatever you do, make sure to interact with the people you're with. The photo booth takes 3 shots, so you can be creative and pose differently for each shot.

Props

Rhinos Lighting & Sound provides a variety of props (sunglasses, hats, emoji heads, signs, and other fun stuff) to your event. Don't forget to make use of the props. Use 2 or 3 props- take a sign, pair it with some sunglasses, and top it off with a hat. Our most popular props, especially with the kids are our emoji heads. They're perfect if you want to take a picture but want to hide; you didn't hear it from us though, shhh.

Wacky Poses

Whether it's a birthday party, wedding, Christmas party, school dance, corporate event or any other type of occasion, you have all the reasons to be wacky and not care what you look like in the photo. That's what a photo booth is all about. Personally, wacky poses are our favorite! We want everyone to have fun and let loose. Maybe that drink you just had or will have, will make you strike that wacky pose. Don't worry, nobody's going to judge you. If anything, people are probably going to follow what you did and do a wacky pose themselves. These kind of poses are what makes memories.

Take 2

Just in case you didn't like the set of shots you just took, don't worry, you can always ask our photobooth hosts to take another one. We are here to give you the best experience and let you take as many shots as you want (the event organizer already paid for it anyway). Do what you have to do and strike that perfect pose!
Moreover, now that we have our new Mirror X Photo Booth, you can see yourself in front of a mirror while taking a picture. The advantage of this is that you'll know what the picture will look like before it even gets printed. This photo booth makes a bold statement at any event, measuring in at over 6 feet tall.

Be Yourself

Lastly, but certainly not the least, just be yourself! Sometimes the props and the crowd can be overwhelming, and you get lost on what to do in front of the camera; which is why it's okay to just be yourself. Whether you're a person who doesn't like to smile at all in photos, or someone who hides underneath the emoji heads, or someone who always do wacky poses, the important thing is that you're having fun. Having fun doesn't always mean doing all sorts of stuff. Having fun means being comfortable with yourself and in what you're doing. The last thing we want to do is make you feel uneasy. So be yourself and do what you got to do. Remember, you are here for a good time, and so are we.
